BikerSync

BikerSync ("we", "our", or "us") is a real-time group ride coordination app for motorcyclists. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

While you are in an active ride session, BikerSync collects and shares the following with other riders in your group:

Display name — the name you enter when joining or creating a ride.
GPS location — your real-time latitude, longitude, and speed, updated continuously during the ride.
Device battery level — shared so other riders can see if you may lose power.
Voice audio — transmitted to the group in real-time when you use the Push-to-Talk feature. Audio is not recorded or stored.
Chat messages — text messages sent within a ride session.
SOS events — your GPS coordinates and battery level, broadcast to the group when you trigger an SOS alert.

2. How We Use Your Data

Location, speed, and battery data are used solely to display your position to other riders in your active ride group.
Voice audio is relayed in real-time to group members and is never recorded or stored on our servers.
Chat messages and SOS events are relayed to your ride group and temporarily held in memory for the duration of the session.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Retention

Real-time location and voice data are not permanently stored. They exist only in transit during an active session.
Ride session data (chat, SOS events) may be temporarily stored in Firebase Realtime Database and is deleted when the session ends.
We do not maintain a database of historical ride routes or user profiles.

4. Third-Party Services

BikerSync uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Crashlytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Maps — used for the in-app map and navigation — policies.google.com/privacy
Railway — our server hosting provider — railway.app/legal/privacy

5. Permissions

BikerSync requests the following device permissions:

Location (foreground & background) — required to share your position with the group during a ride.
Microphone — required for the Push-to-Talk voice feature. Accessed only when you actively use PTT.
Internet — required to connect to the ride server and relay data to group members.

6. Children's Privacy

BikerSync is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Since BikerSync does not maintain persistent user accounts or stored ride history, there is no personal data profile to access, export, or delete. You can stop sharing data at any time by exiting the active ride session.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
